I was so thrilled when Rebecca & Anthony asked me to be bridesmaid for their wedding, and to find out it was in Rhodes! well that was pretty cool and a little bit special!
Wedding planning in Rhodes was very different to how it is in the Uk. With details only needing to be confirmed days before the actual wedding itself. Apparently there was only one florist on the island and so choice was very limited. This was when I first suggested the option of artificial. Now don’t get me wrong, my heart will always lie with the gift from the big mother nature herself, however the security of knowing what flowers you’ll be wearing, that they’ll survive high temperatures & done in a way its questionable fresh flowers – I think is a wonderful idea!
Rebecca chose a soft & floaty gown with layers of tulle creating a romantic look. Beaded detailing edged around the bodice which incorporated feathers, giving a shell like appearance – perfect for a destination wedding.
We kept the flowers a neutral shade adding texture and sparkle, with dark cream tones to compliment the groomsmen suits. Accents of dried star fish were placed on to the tiffany blue chair tie backs, and shells placed in vases
